Signs you need gutter cleaning
- Water sheeting over the front edge during rain
- Plants growing out of the gutter
- Ice building along the eave in winter
- Birds or wasps working in and out of a downspout
- Dark streaks down the outside of the gutter
- It has been more than a year since the last cleaning
How a gutter cleaning call works

Debris scooped by hand into bags, not blown onto the lawn or the roof

Every downspout flushed with a hose until it runs clear, and snaked if it does not

Questions about gutter cleaning
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Twice a year for most homes: once after the cottonwoods drop in early summer and once after the leaves come down in fall. Homes under big trees may need a third pass.
Do you walk on the roof?
Only when the pitch and roofing allow it safely. Most work is done from ladders with standoffs so the gutters are not dented.
What happens to the debris?
It leaves with us. We do not blow it into the yard or leave bags at the curb.
